My summer learning journey 1 activity.

 Kia Ora everyone this is my first summer learning journey activity. I really had a lot of fun doing this. What this is mostly about is I looked at a Taj Mahal picture and I coloured in the same colours as the Taj Mahal, you can see the pictures below.  The top picture is the color of the Taj Mahal and the bottom picture is the one I coloured in using a website and I forgot the name of it, here is the link .

Today I am going to share my voice recording with you. I am going to retell the story of Sina and the eel in my own words. I used online voice recorder to do this.

My Eels in stories post!!

Kia Ora everyone, this is my post for Eels in stories. I took me about 2 weeks to complete and I finally fin fished it. I hope you guys enjoy.

 WALT: identify and talk about writers’ purposes and on the ways they use language and ideas to suit their purposes (e.g., by using vocabulary to set a scene or develop a mood).

How do authors create powerful images and emotional responses in their reader?
	My Brother Benjamin and the Eels	Mud, Slush and Tuna	Uncle Trev and the Giant Eel	Sina and the Eel.
Verbs and adverbs (What are the eels doing?)	The Eels are very delightful when Tsaw their favorite human Benjamin ,but when his sisters came the eels never got close to them they would only come to benjamin!!!	The eels were trying really hard to get away from the brothers, they were really scared of them but they couldn’t get away, one almost escaped but he got caught just an inch away from the ocean!!!!	The very big Eel was very very very hungry that it ate a horse and hoggets (which is a giant sheep). Uncle trev was trying to catch the eel but the Eel ate so much hoggets and a horse that it got tired and won't be needing food for approximately another 2 weeks!!	The Eel was very happy in the first place because Sina liked it alot but after she didn't come to see the Eel and it got mad at her. The eel was scaring her and he told her cousins to kill the eel because she thought it would do something bad to her!!!
Vivid adjectives (Words that create a picture in your mind when they describe an eel and its actions)	The Eels slithering in the freshwater river happily at 2 km per hour above the gigantic slippery rocks.	The Eels were happily slithering across the ocean slowly and smoothly until they got attacked.	Slithering across the water a giant Eel swam across the river with some speed to it.	The Eels face was as scary as a killer clown, it dived back into the glimmering water at great speed.
Emotive language (Words or phrases that evoke a feel about the eels in you or the characters in the story)t	When Benjamin see’s the eels he feels very excited because he was best friends with the eels and they were being very nice to him!!!	When the brothers saw the Eels they were very excited and really wanted to catch them and they did and they even catched a lot.	Uncle Trev was really wanting to catch that big Eel but it ate too much hoggets and wasn’t hungry for a long time so it rested beneath the river and it won’t be coming back for food because it is full.	First when Sina saw the eel she and the eel became great friends, but after a while sina got scared of the eel because he got more demanding just because sina didn’t come to visit the eel 2 days ago.
Figurative language (a word or phrase that does not have a normal everyday, literal meaning, eg smilies, metaphor, hyperboles etc.)	The Eels were very excited they jumped onto land even though they couldn't breathe on land, Benjamin was so terrified the eels were going to die that he felt like he could die instead of them!!!	The Eels were just swimming happily when they saw the brothers they tried to escape but they caught all of them and 1 almost escaped.	Excitedly the Eel ate lots of yummy food from teh farm and lived happily beneath the river.	The eel was so mad at sina that he could kill her and eat her for his dinner and lunch. That’s how mad he was!!!!
Which one of these texts created the most powerful images and emotional responses to you?  Why?	To me It was Sina and the Eel. I really liked it because it was really emotional and it had a lovely ending, it even  Had a fight which was awesome and it had good friend ship until the Eel Got very annoying to Sina and their relationship broke up. My Camp Recap activity 3!!!

 This is a self reflection of Camp!!!

What was the best part about camp? 

Answer - I think the best part about Camp was everything because everything there was outstanding, we had lots and lots of fun activities like Archery which was my favourite and Air Rifle shooting, the food there was very yummy as well and for desert we had lots of yummy deserts like brownies with ice cream and chocolate sauce.

What challenged you there?

Answer - I think the most challenging part was getting to the top of the rock climbing thing because I do not do good at heights, at my first try I didn’t even make It through half way. But on my second try I believed in myself and I kept on climbing and finally made it to the top. It wasn’t the hardest challenge because there were lots and lots and lots of other things like archery which I did terrible because it was my first try though. Everything was really challenging!!!

What would you do differently next time?

Answer - I think I would not be scared at rock climbing because if I thought twice I would know that the straps that were holding me would not let go because their strong and so I wouldn’t need to be scared of not losing my grip and that’s how I went to the top on my second try.

What did you learn?

Answer - Learnt lots of things that I had never learnt before like Archery and kayaking or sailing but I think I did pretty good on my first try like I got a bullseye in my first try at Air Rifle shooting and I already am really good at kayaking with an extra buddy. But what I learnt the most was to have fun at every activity because like all the activities are fun!!!

How much effort did you put into each activity?

Answer - Pretty much I put a lot of effort into every activity but I put most of my effort into Archery and kayaking, same with air rifle shooting but I put 100% effort into rock climbing because it was my first time climbing in great heights and as I said before I am not good with heights especially long ones.

Why do you think the experience was important?

Answer - I think that the Camp was a great experience because it made me get better at lots of things such as rock climbing because it made me better at it and it made me not that scared of heights anymore. I was really happy to get a chance to do all the fun things that I haven’t even done before just like Air Rifle shooting, I got better at lots of things so it was the best trip ever.

                                                          It was the literal best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Camp activity 1 Recap.

Dear Diary

Today we had to go to camp, it was in Whangaparoa Shakespeare lodge regional park. We had to be there for 3 days not exact but close, we had to go on bus and it took almost a whole hour to get there which was actually really boring, I was kind of nervous but excited at the same time. We had to sit in the back lawn for instructions and other things. We had to I was excited because there was lots of fun activities including rock climbing which was my groups first activity, it was really hard to get to the top at my first try but I finally made it on my second try ever though my heart was pounding out of my chest. And by the way there were straps holding me so I don’t fall, I realised that the straps would hold me and that's why I wasn’t scared to go all the way to the top. After we did rock climbing it was lunch time, we had hot dogs with some vegetables, some sauces and obviously the sausage inside the bun. It was delicious but that wasn’t the end , we had more activities to come , I forgot what the other activities were but I am telling you, they were outstanding. Thank you for listening to my camp adventures everyone. I hope everyone enjoyed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

Lets hope that I get another chance to go to another fun place as a trip everyone but more fun and more exciting!!!!!!

Kia Ora everyone today I have posted about my magnificent Calendar art, it took me almost three weeks to complete but I achieved it at last. Back to school (Again)

 Morena everyone, we are back to school and back from lock down again, I sure missed school but I also liked having a free holiday, but this Covid-19 holiday was boring because we couldn't go anywhere outside to have fun. Just boring at home watching you tube and playing cards with my brother. 

I just don't like getting stuck in my house because I get a little uncomfortable and I say this to myself when it is boring (Why, Why you bully me boring old house) never mind that. Some fun things that I did at home which I barely do unless I'm in the mood to was building our own little bases out of wood and blankets with my brother. I have to admit, it was pretty fun.
